  • Bruce Napier, a retired environmental health physicist, will host a free talk on Hanford's history at Richland Public Library on Monday, Jan. 12 - his presentation will share insights on radiation exposure both locally and globally.  The KEY

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • The Kennewick City Council accepted a state loan for $15 million toward a $33 million water treatment project to remove PFAS from 60% of the city's supply; construction bids will be taken this fall and treatment is expected to begin in summer 2028 with no new taxes.  NBC Tri-Cities

HEALTH NEWS

  • Washington health officials are monitoring the H3N2 subclade K flu variant that is raising cases in 27 states; no cases have been reported locally yet (experts recommend a flu shot to stay safe).  The KEY
