  • Juice is a well-behaved adoptable pup who shows a quirky move of walking backwards while keeping eye contact and is building confidence at the Tri-Cities Animal Shelter after his surgery for double cherry eye. Adoption visits require meet and greets with current dogs.  The KEY

CULTURE NEWS

  • RadCon returned to the Tri-Cities for its 35th year with an alien-themed celebration at the Red Lion Hotel for sci-fi and fantasy fans, featuring talks, artists, writers, and gamers with costumes encouraged. Jeff Schreiner promoted his new Escape Monster rooms (opening next weekend in Kenwick) during the event.  KEPR TV

ECONOMY NEWS

  • Columbia Generating Station near Richland was manually shut down Thursday, Feb. 12 at 2:49 a.m. after both recirculation pumps failed, and Energy Northwest said the facility remains safe with no set date to resume operations.  The KEY

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Tri-Cities Animal Control proposed new pet policy changes at a meeting held on Feb. 12 at Pasco City Hall. The proposals include tiered licensing, mandatory spay/neuter for repeat impounds (designed to reduce pet overpopulation) and stronger seizure rules that could affect pet owners across the region.  The KEY
