  • Vandalism damaged playground equipment at two Pasco parks, including Richardson Park and Liberty Park, forcing closures and repairs (cost estimated at $3,000 to $4,000) and prompting police to increase patrols while residents are urged to report suspicious activity.  KEPR TV

  • Country singer Ian Munsick, known for blending modern country and Western influences, will perform at Toyota Center at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 26 in Kennewick (tickets are available online).  The KEY

  • Buck Taft, Tri-Cities Airport director, advises travelers to check with their airlines before departing, as connecting flights to Mexico from Seattle may face schedule changes (few concerns have been reported) amid ongoing violence in Mexico.  Apple Valley News Now

HEALTH NEWS

  • Washington health officials reported five recalls on food and household items that may be in homes today and advise residents to check labels and discard any affected products (all recalls are voluntary) to reduce the risk of illness.  KONA
  • West Richland EMS now arrives at calls over one minute faster after Station 410 reopened last June, reducing reliance on neighboring stations. Staffing shortages remain and officials plan to add positions plus encourage community involvement.  FOX 41 Yakima

  • Kennewick teen BMX racer Lazer Turbo Ruud was selected for Team USA World Championships after qualifying in both class and cruiser divisions at the Sunshine State Nationals in Cape Coral in January.  Apple Valley News Now
