  • A March 17 fire at El Tequila's damaged several downtown businesses without causing injuries.   • Nordstrom Rack will open soon at the Tri-Cities Center (7411 W. Canal Drive), offering up to 70% off on apparel, accessories and home decor. The new store will join Burlington, Craft Warehouse and Dollar Tree as details on the opening date are confirmed.  KONA

ECONOMY NEWS

  • Tri-Cities Airport set a record in 2025 with 975,372 travelers, marking its third year of growth. Airlines launched new nonstop routes and upgraded flights, reflecting strong local demand for air travel.  NBC Tri-Cities

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Pasco School District is accepting applications for its Two-Way Dual Language Program for incoming kindergarten students for the 2026-2027 school year; families in Pasco can apply through local elementary schools until May 29.  Apple Valley News Now

  • The Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife will require hunters and anglers to show their licenses via smartphone apps beginning July 8 + anglers can also use electronic catch record cards starting April 1.   • Amid the shutdown, 54 local TSA agents continue working without pay and are now urged by Tri-Cities leaders to accept donations; gift cards can be dropped off in Kennewick at the Business + Visitor Center or at the Tri-Cities Airport in Pasco.  NBC Tri-Cities

  • Local doctors in Kennewick reported that colorectal cancer rates are rising among younger patients (screenings are less frequent and diets include more ultra-processed foods), so experts recommend earlier testing.  NBC Tri-Cities
