  • Bryan Foster, a Hanford worker involved in in-tank camera inspections, died Thursday, March 26 after experiencing a medical emergency while working in a supply vehicle and first responders attempted lifesaving measures.  Apple Valley News Now

  • X-energy, the nuclear firm behind small modular reactors planned north of Richland, announced its plan to sell common stock on Nasdaq with details pending SEC review. The move is part of its partnership with Energy Northwest and Amazon in a project that could generate 960 MW once built.  Tri-Cities Business News

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • The Washington State Department of Fish and Wildlife is urging local boaters to clean, drain, and dry their watercraft before launching to prevent invasive mussels from harming waterways; free decontamination is available at inspection stations and non-compliance can lead to fines.  NBC Tri-Cities

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The Washington Department of Veterans Affairs held a Richland town hall on Wednesday to reveal a design for a veterans cemetery in Horn Rapids near the Yakima River.   • Governor Ferguson signed House Bill 1210 to update tax laws for clean energy businesses (including nuclear facilities) by offering a four-year urban area tax exemption that may add 1,000 family wage jobs to the Tri-Cities; the bill goes into effect June 11.  NBC Tri-Cities

HEALTH NEWS

  • Certified nursing assistants at six Washington nursing homes will vote on a negotiated contract offering an 8%+11% wage increase over two years; the deal aims to boost staff retention and quality care, with votes running from March 26 to March 30.  NBC Tri-Cities
  • A new recovery center will open in the old Trios Hospital building with a ribbon cutting on April 17 and full operations beginning in May, offering mental health, addiction recovery, and crisis services while hiring 144 team members (for both walk-ins and emergency cases).  The KEY
