ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ Today, at 8:51 a.m., Kennewick fire crews were dispatched to a residential fire in the 9400 block of West 9th Place after a caller reported popping noises, smoke and heat from a neighbor's garage, and by 9:14 a.m. they had contained the fire with no injuries—investigators are looking into the cause while crews remain on scene for additional mop up. - ➤ On April 10th, a neighbor’s call sent Kennewick Fire Department crews to a garage at 8:51 a.m.—they contained the fire by 9:14 a.m., which kept the damage limited to smoke in an unoccupied home while the cause is under investigation. FOX 41 Yakima
- ➤ Crews responded to a residential fire in the 9400 block of West 9th Place on April 10th when smoke billowed from garage and attic vents and four engines brought hoses inside the home while West 9th Place was closed from South Vermont to West 8th Place—officials expect more details soon—. - ➤ On Wednesday evening near the Columbia Center Mall, Kennewick police reported that one person was hurt in a shooting at about 5:30 p.m. and taken by personal vehicle to Fire Station 72 for treatment—search warrants were executed and one person was arrested. Apple Valley News Now
- ➤ Late Wednesday night, Benton County deputies responded to a domestic violence call at a home on the 400 block of 14th Street in Benton City after a man using a baseball bat damaged his girlfriend's bedroom and bathroom, and SWAT officers secured a search warrant to capture him—he now faces a Malicious Mischief in the 3rd Degree domestic violence charge. - ➤ Community leader Sue Frost and a fundraiser raised $675K for the Tri-Cities’ first in-patient mental health and substance abuse treatment facility now under construction at the former Kennewick General Hospital. The funds will support the Family Room and recovery services—work expected to finish at the end of 2025 or early 2026. Tri-Cities Business News
- ➤ The Tri-Cities Cancer Center Foundation will host its 25th Annual Cancer Crushing Breakfast at the Three River Convention Center on April 15th starting at 7:30 a.m.—the event will offer local community members a chance to learn about new cancer care technology funded by recent donations and support the region’s only not-for-profit cancer care facility.
