  • Pasco’s Reser's Foods Inc.—a family-owned company—is hosting a jingle contest for college vocal groups where entries will be accepted until Sunday, May 11 at 11:59 p.m. The contest will award a total of $75,000 with one group receiving $25,000 and up to $20,000 in travel funds for a live performance at the Patricia Reser Center for the Arts while three other groups will win $15,000, $10,000 and $5,000.  The KEY
  • A recent report lists the 20 most commonly used passwords that are easily hacked, putting Washingtonians at risk and urging users to switch to strong passphrases—experts recommend a mix of upper and lower-case letters, numbers, and symbols with a password manager to secure accounts.  NewsTalk 870

  • Local coffee shop owners are facing uncertainty over rising bean prices due to ongoing tariff pressure that might force higher costs and fewer customers. ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Residents in Pasco have been troubled by a foul odor in the evenings, and city councilman Leo Perales said he is asking locals to file complaints with the Department of Ecology to address the issue. A Lamb Weston plant north of the city said it will install new centrifuges and dredge its irrigation pond (steps meant to reduce the smell) while noting that other sources could also be to blame.  KEPR TV

  • Masters rookie Matt McCarty recovered after a poor start Friday at Augusta National by making eight birdies in the second round to finish at four-under par 68—putting him five-under in the tournament.   • More than 130 of Washington’s top truck drivers will compete today at Gesa Stadium in Pasco for the Washington Truck Driving Championship—hosted by the Washington Trucking Associations and starting at 6 a.m. Drivers will take a written exam, pre-trip inspection and skills test, and winners will move on to the National Truck Driving Championship in August.  Apple Valley News Now
