- ➤ Columbia Basin Youth Football is a nonprofit league that has added a girls flag football division to help remove enrollment fees for kindergarten to eighth grade players (+ a move meant to make the sport more accessible). The organization will host a live auction and dinner event at Zintel Creek Golf Club on May 2, and a golf tournament on May 3 (+ offering over $250,000 in hole-in-one prizes to help reach a $125,000 goal). - ➤ Domestic Violence Services of Benton and Franklin Counties launched the 'Furnishing Hope' campaign on April 15 to raise money for fully furnishing 10 safe housing units for survivors of domestic violence and their children. - ➤ Benton REA sold its PowerNET internet service for $110,000 to Yakima-based Advanced High Speed Internet, which has served about 1,000 rural and underserved users since 1997.
