ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • Igloo has recalled nearly 1.2 million coolers after 78 people reported finger injuries, with 26 cases involving cuts, breaks, or fingertip amputations—customers who bought a cooler from January 2019 through January 2025 should stop using it and contact Igloo for a free replacement handle.  The KEY

ECONOMY NEWS

  • Tourism boosted the Tri-Cities economy by over $640 million last year — more than $100 million of that was spent on food, lodging, and transportation. Kevin Lewis, CEO of Visit Tri-Cities, said the region’s first Ironman race brought in visitors from 45 states and 20 countries and noted that plans are in motion to attract more events in the future.  FOX 41 Yakima

  • Worksource is hosting a resume workshop for veterans and military spouses who seek help with job applications and interview practice. The session is set for tomorrow from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Worksource Columbia Basin (815 N. Kellogg St. Suit D) and requires pre-registration.  KEPR TV

HEALTH NEWS

  • A listeria outbreak sickened 10 people after ready-to-eat food from Fresh & Ready Foods caused infections on May 13; federal officials traced the illness to foods made in California that were sold in stores such as hospitals, hotels, and convenience stores in Washington and other states. The company recalled products with use by dates from April 22 to May 19 and removed equipment to fix the problem — consumers should discard any recalled items.  FOX 41 Yakima
