EDUCATION NEWS

  • Students from Tri-Tech’s CNA and pre-nursing programs linked with local healthcare employers on Tuesday, May 19 at WorkSource in Kennewick. They talked about career paths in nursing+home healthcare and pediatrics while learning about needed certifications.  KEPR TV

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Fire officials have warned Kennewick residents to use extra caution as fire danger rises across the region, with moderate risks affecting Benton, Franklin, and Walla Walla Counties and high danger in parts of Yakima and Kittitas counties (burn restrictions are in effect).  Apple Valley News Now

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • As of May 19, both pumps at the Chandler Pumping Plant are running and restoring water service for KID customers while crews refill canals through the weekend; customers with service issues are urged to call KID for assistance.  NBC Tri-Cities
  • Pasco and Kennewick honored crews who keep roads, water systems and emergency care running by issuing proclamations for two observance weeks.
