- ➤ Kennewick's Historic Downtown will host the 2025 Classy Chassy Car Show and Shine on May 31 — the event will feature classic cars, awards, and fun activities with festivities beginning at 2:00 p.m., winners recognized at 6:00 p.m., and the show ending by 7:00 p.m. In-person registration starts today while online registration runs through May 30 with fees of $35 and an early bird rate of $25 until April 25. - ➤ Local veterans will be honored at the No Veteran Stands Alone Gala scheduled for Friday, May 30 at the Red Lion Hotel Pasco Airport and Conference Center. The Columbia Basin Veterans Center organizes the event to raise funds for veteran programs such as bus passes, vehicle repairs, and temporary housing & will feature an inspirational guest speaker & offer networking opportunities for supporters. ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ Benton County deputies responded to a crash near E. Reata Rd and S. Bermuda Rd west of Kennewick that sent a car into a home's yard this morning—paramedics assessed those involved while officers continued to monitor the area for traffic issues. FOX 41 Yakima
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ On May 24, deputies near South Oak Street and East Bowles Road in Finley found a car in a canal and arrested a man accused of hit and run after a neighbor saw him leave an orchard with the car's key fob—he was booked on hit and run charges with no injuries reported. Apple Valley News Now
ECONOMY NEWS
- ➤ A report issued on May 15 showed that most workers in the Kennewick-Richland area earn above the national average, with management making about $74.21 per hour and many in office support and construction earning at least a dollar more. Some sectors—like computer, transportation and legal professions—earn wages that are on par with or below national figures, with legal workers earning nearly $13 less than their national counterparts.
