- ➤ Kennewick police asked for help in identifying the male suspect involved in a felony assault on June 11 as authorities say the gang-related attack is under investigation and anyone who recognizes him should call 509 628-0333. FOX 41 Yakima
- ➤ Benton County sheriff’s deputies tracked a 39-year-old suspect with a stolen iPhone after Richland Police followed his phone to Kennewick and K—9 Riff led officers to a hiding spot—where he surrendered for a firearms violation. FOX 41 Yakima
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Richland City Council is planning a false alarms ordinance to reduce resource drain from alarm calls after a DOJ study showed over 97 percent of the 1,459 calls from August 2023 to July 2024 were false. The council will review staff recommendations on Tuesday, June 24 and may set a threshold for police response + the Kennewick Fire Department approved fines in 2024 for businesses with repeated false alarms.
