CRIME NEWS

  • Kennewick police and Benton County Sheriff's deputies apprehended 43-year-old Jayson Castaneda—accused of multiple felonies including a no contact order violation—after he fled near Westgate Elementary on a bicycle and foot on Sunday night using help from K9 Ivan.  The KEY
  • A 21-year-old woman was arrested Monday morning in Kennewick after driving 74 mph on Canal Drive near Fisher Street while she was headed to court to pay a previous speeding ticket—she was also cited for driving without insurance and without a valid license.  The KEY
  • Kennewick Police and the Benton County Sheriff's Office caught felony suspect Jayson Castaneda near Westgate Elementary at about 9:30 p.m. on Sunday night when he fled on a bicycle into a field and was cornered by K9 Ivan — he now faces multiple charges including violations of a domestic violence no contact order and assault.  NewsTalk 870

  • A labor dispute delaying the Dallas Road roundabout in Richland appears resolved as construction resumes today and Trowbridge Boulevard will be closed for three weeks—detours are set along Gateway Avenue with a lane shift at Ava Way and Dallas.
