  • A fatal crash happened Sunday at the US 395 and Crestloch Road intersection when a vehicle turning left hit oncoming traffic, killing a 76-year-old man and injuring three others—state transportation officials are studying flashing beacons and roundabouts and urging drivers to slow down until safety measures are in place.  Apple Valley News Now

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • The Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife and Benton County will fly drones over the lower Yakima River on August 27 or 28 to survey areas from the Prosser City Wastewater Plant to the Yakama Nation Prosser Hatchery and from the WDFW Sunnyside-Snake River Wildlife Area to Benton City Park — the flights will last 2-4 hours and follow FAA and WDFW policies.  FOX 41 Yakima
