  • After Hungry Gen Church moved to a new building in Kennewick, the Salvation Army purchased their old church in Pasco to expand services with youth programs, family-led music, sports and educational classes. The expansion is estimated at $2.4 million+ the building will continue hosting its food pantry and social services while they work to raise an extra $300,000.  KEPR TV

ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • Motorists on Highway 395 north of Pasco faced rising safety concerns after a fatal crash at the Crestloch intersection on the weekend—one person died and several others were injured as officials consider adding flashing lights and lower speed limits to help prevent further accidents.  KEPR TV

CRIME NEWS

  • A Wapato man was found guilty of second-degree murder for a fatal DUI crash on North Track Road in Yakima County in 2023 — his sentencing will be held on November 18.  Apple Valley News Now
  • Kennewick Police Department, working with Richland Police Department, arrested a third suspect today in connection with a targeted robbery at a home on the 1200 block of W Kennewick Ave—where a male victim was robbed at gunpoint on July 27—and the suspect now faces robbery and theft charges alongside Mark Andrew Barnett and Matthew Robert Miller after officers executed search warrants on August 6 that seized multiple firearms, narcotics and other items.  NBC Tri-Cities

EDUCATION NEWS

  • School buses will be on the roads in Kennewick when school starts tomorrow—this may slow down commutes as drivers watch for active crosswalks near school zones.  NewsTalk 870
