- ➤ Labor Day honored American workers on September 1 and Kennewick hosted its 12th annual Labor Day picnic at Columbia Park Bandshell from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.—featuring live music, face painting, grilled foods and a car and motorcycle show while government offices and banks remained closed. - ➤ Trooper Sarah Clasen was involved in a fatal crash on March 1st that killed 20-year-old Jhoser Sanchez while she was off duty and had a blood alcohol level of 0.17—six months later she remains uncharged as investigations continue. FOX 41 Yakima

- ➤ Kennewick photographer Chris Denslow, known for capturing local events like the Tri-City Water Follies and water racing scenes, died August 31 after a short illness (he was 56). - ➤ Today, construction begins at George Washington Way and Aaron Drive in Richland as the city works to improve safety and ease traffic delays at a crash-prone intersection.
