  • During the five-day Benton-Franklin Fair and Rodeo, Ben Franklin Transit’s free shuttle carried 30,687 riders, breaking the record of 28,422 set in 2019. ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • On September 1, Benton County firefighters responded to an attic fire on east 19th Avenue in Kennewick that forced a family to evacuate their home and helped recover school supplies—backpacks, laptops, and cell phones—for the children, with damage contained to one room and no injuries reported.  Apple Valley News Now

  • Washington's state legislature passed a law that will add retail sales taxes on services like advertising and live presentations starting Oct. 1.   • The Ironkids Fun Run will be held Saturday, September 20 at Columbia Point Marina Park in Richland where children ages 1 to 17 can choose a toddler trot, a half mile run or a one mile run and receive a bib, shirt and medal with registration costing $28 until race morning.
