  • Three Rivers Tattoo Convention will take place this weekend at Three Rivers Convention Center, offering tattoo and piercing experiences for enthusiasts. A red flag warning is in effect today from 1 p.m. to 11 p.m. PDT — dry, windy conditions are raising wildfire risks in the Lower Columbia Basin and Eastern Columbia River Gorge.  NBC Tri-Cities

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Kennewick City Council passed a new ordinance on September 16 that fines drivers 250 dollars for using private property as shortcuts near intersections like Steptoe and Victoria. Police will enforce the rule immediately to reduce traffic hazards—targeting common cut-through routes.  The KEY

HEALTH NEWS

  • A study of 88 preemies born before 32 weeks found that skin-to-skin kangaroo care boosted brain areas linked to emotion and stress when babies received longer care sessions—researchers tracked 70-minute sessions during two-month hospital stays and noted that this care may also help family bonding.  FOX 41 Yakima
