- ➤ Starbucks closed its store on West Canal Drive in Kennewick on Saturday, September 27 along with shops in Ritzville, East Wenatchee and Yakima as part of a restructuring that laid off 900 non retail workers after earlier layoffs in February. The company said it will close 400 locations by early October to focus on high traffic sites — a move driven by local competition and labor issues. KONA
