  • Construction on Broadmoor Blvd. in Pasco is slowing traffic as crews lay asphalt and install temporary traffic lights—city leaders said new lights are ordered despite months-long delays. The project will wrap up early next year.  KEPR TV

  • A recent study found that a genetic blood test can show which women with abnormal breast cells may get invasive breast cancer later. Women with high test scores were two times more likely to develop cancer and those with a family history had an even higher risk — helping doctors decide on further treatment.  FOX 41 Yakima
  • A study published on Oct. 2 found seniors exposed to high levels of TCE had a 10% greater risk of Parkinson’s, and those living within five miles downwind from a lithium battery plant had a fourfold risk increase. Researchers compared nearly 222,000 Parkinson’s cases with over 1.1 million controls — highlighting the need for stricter monitoring of this industrial chemical.  FOX 41 Yakima
