- ➤ Washington Winegrowers Association, Washington State Wine Commission and Washington Wine Institute have asked all winegrowers to fill out the 2025 Grape Report, which will collect acreage data by grape variety and AVA — the data will be kept confidential and used to help the industry plan future production. - ➤ AAA reported that lower oil prices pushed Northwest gas prices down this week — Washington gas dropped seven cents to 4.34 dollars a gallon, Oregon slid eight cents to below 4 dollars, and Idaho recorded the lowest at 3.39 dollars while diesel prices fell only two to three cents per gallon. - ➤ Kennewick School Board approved a resolution on October 22 backing a proposed amendment to revise sports rules by creating a girls division for athletes based on biological sex at birth and an open division for others. The amendment will be reviewed by the WIAA in January (requiring a 60 percent vote from 53 athletic directors in April) before it may be implemented next school year (the board said the change is meant to promote fairness in girls’ sports). - ➤ Drivers in Kennewick face overnight road closures today from midnight until 9 a.m. on Southbound North Columbia Center Boulevard at West Okanogan Place and westbound West Grandridge Boulevard at North Colorado Street—the city advises using North Colorado Street as the detour in its overlay project to improve road conditions. - ➤ The Kennewick Housing Authority started construction on Bubble on Gum—a low-income housing development on a 3.7 acre lot at East 13th Avenue and South Gum Street—that will house 58 families with incomes under 50% of the local median.
