  • Richland Police Department is supporting the 7th Annual Jasmine Strong Holiday Toy Drive by collecting toys for children and families at the Walmart Richland — Duportail Street store. ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • Troopers cautioned drivers about tailgating risks as winter temperatures dropped and road conditions worsened—especially in busy areas around the Blue Bridge—and advised keeping a car length of space for every 10 mph to help avoid crashes.  KEPR TV
  • A driver likely suffering a seizure crashed through the schoolyard's chain-link fence and an exterior wall at Richland Elementary School on Thanksgiving night, causing damage to a classroom while the driver was rushed to Kadlec Regional Medical Center and emergency repairs began with classes set to resume on December 1st.  NewsTalk 870

EDUCATION NEWS

  • The Richland School District will ask voters for a four-year replacement levy in February that aims to raise about $43 million to fund 150 certificated staff and 160 paraeducators—helping the district avoid a $5 million loss in state funds and further budget cuts. The levy would cost homeowners $2.50 per $1,000 of assessed value, or roughly $300 per average home.  Apple Valley News Now
