  • Richland will host Winter Wonderland 2025 starting Friday, Dec. 5, from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at John Dam Plaza, Howard Amon Park, and the Richland Community Center. The month-long event features a lighted vehicle parade, dancing light shows, holiday crafts + food vendors and festive performances.  FOX 41 Yakima
  • Six ag community leaders will be inducted into the Mid-Columbia Agriculture Hall of Fame at a reception and dinner on Jan. 15 at the Three Rivers Convention Center (7016 W.   • Mid-Columbia Opera debuts with its inaugural performance on Friday at the Uptown Theatre in Richland. The event will feature 'Messiah' with 21 singers and three pianists, with a second performance on Saturday at 2 p.m.  KEPR TV

  • Benton-Franklin Workforce Development Council and WorkSource Columbia Basin are seeking an AmeriCorps digital literacy navigator to guide job seekers through resume building, computer basics, and AI tool use.   • Richland School District and Communities In Schools of Benton-Franklin (CISBF) are partnering to remove barriers for students by addressing challenges like housing instability, food insecurity, and mental health needs.   • Officials from Ecology and Grant PUD are addressing a spill at Priest Rapids Dam after 240 gallons of oil leaked into the Columbia River during maintenance last night — the public should avoid the river between the dam and Pasco until more details arrive by noon today.  FOX 41 Yakima

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • State regulators ordered Seattle-based CoinMe to stop collecting funds and refund customers (it serves Tri-Cities) after alleging the firm misreported $8 million in wired transfers and failed to meet consumer finance rules. The order may lead to a license revocation.  Tri-Cities Business News
  • The FBI warned iPhone users today about phone scams that ask for personal details, urging Kennewick residents to delete suspicious texts and calls and use official channels (by contacting their bank directly) to verify alerts.  KONA

HEALTH NEWS

  • Over 250,000 cases of shredded cheese sold at Target and Walmart were recalled after the FDA detected potential metal fragments in the products — the recall affects store-brand items in 31 states including Washington.  FOX 41 Yakima
  • Federal health officials report nearly 40 infants were hospitalized with infant botulism linked to ByHeart formula; the recall began on Nov. 11, and Washington families should note that some products are still on shelves at retailers (Walmart, Target, Kroger).  FOX 41 Yakima
