  • Hanford Mission Integration Solutions donated $25,000 in goods and cash to local nonprofits yesterday — including support for Chaplaincy Health Care, Domestic Violence Services, Meals on Wheels, and others receiving checks to strengthen community programs.  FOX 41 Yakima
  • Tri-Cities Animal Services in Pasco reports that it has cared for roughly 160 animals and taken in about 3,000 in 2025 amid increased demand from recent flooding and cold weather, with plans to coordinate further emergency evacuations (serving Kennewick, Pasco and Richland).  Apple Valley News Now
  • The Three Rivers Community Foundation has announced a donation of over $372,000 this month to 77 nonprofits in Benton and Franklin counties — the funds will support local programs.  KEPR TV

  • NASCAR driver Greg Biffle died in a plane crash Thursday morning when a corporate Cessna 650 carrying his wife, son, daughter and three others crashed after attempting to return to Statesville Regional Airport.  The KEY

  • Bonefish Grill at 133 West Gage in Richland closed on Wed, Dec. 17 after nearly 20 years, and customers can redeem gift cards at Outback Restaurant on 6819 W. Canal Drive + online orders. The closure is part of a larger pullback by its parent company that cut 20 locations.  NewsTalk 870
  • Popcorn Northwest, a Central Richland shop selling kettle corn, will close Dec. 31, affecting both its main location and its kiosk at Toyota Center. Owner Jeramy Schulz announced the closure on Dec. 18 via social media and urged customers to visit before it shuts down.  Tri-Cities Business News

  • Benton County emergency officials are evaluating if recent flooding qualifies the area for FEMA assistance given the major flood stage damage that even exceeded the 2009 impacts — residents are urged to submit a damage evaluation form on the county website.  Apple Valley News Now
  • Kennewick Fire Department and regional agencies are testing a new Class B fire simulation system during live-fire training that began on Monday and will continue through Saturday in Kennewick using clean-burning propane to create realistic flames with less smoke.  NBC Tri-Cities

  • Enhanced ACA subsidies that help lower health premiums will end at midnight on Dec. 31, leaving Kennewick residents and others to face higher costs; lawmakers plan a vote in January on extending the credits, but Senate support remains uncertain.  FOX 41 Yakima
