- ➤ Kennewick's Public Market at the Columbia River Warehouse closed suddenly — leaving local vendors without clear reasons despite a vague letter from management a month ago. City manager Erin Erdman said the closure gives businesses a chance to relocate downtown, and some vendors plan to reopen soon. NBC Tri-Cities
- ➤ Kennewick’s Public Market closed after four years, and vendors are already moving to new spaces while the building is set to become Premiere Kitchen — a commercial kitchen and event space. The timetable for the new project remains unknown. KONA

- ➤ Bryson Fico, founder of Pages of Redemption, donates books to improve literacy in county jails across Washington state. His nonprofit has delivered over 5,000 books to facilities in Benton, Franklin, Yakima, and Walla Walla and plans additional summer donations. KEPR TV
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ The Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife intercepted two boats carrying invasive mussels in Pasco and Spokane since the start of 2026 — warning boaters to clean their watercraft to prevent the spread. - ➤ Franklin County Undersheriff Monty Huber urged drivers to be patient with slow farm vehicles as busy farming season approaches — he recounted a near crash on 395 near King City and stressed that both drivers and farm operators must act safely. NBC Tri-Cities
- ➤ On March 23, Gov. Ferguson signed (House Bill 2334) a state law allowing retailers to round cash transactions to the nearest five cents, and the rule will take effect mid-June to help businesses handle the penny shortage. Tri-Cities Business News
- ➤ The Port of Pasco will close Railroad Avenue from Darigold to Granite Construction from March 27-30 to build a signalized crossing that expands the Reimann Industrial Center. Drivers may use alternate routes (Highway 395 and Kartchner Street) for local access. Tri-Cities Business News
- ➤ Governor Bob Ferguson signed House Bill 1210 into law today to extend property tax exemptions for clean energy projects in the Tri-Cities (including Pasco) so projects remain eligible during federal certification delays. The bill will take effect June 11. NBC Tri-Cities
- ➤ Richland Fire and Emergency Services is set to launch its 'Blood on Board' program this summer—equipping a command vehicle with ready-to-use blood products for on-scene care before hospital arrival. A regional blood drive to support the initiative will be held Tuesday, Mar. 31 at Fire Station 74. NBC Tri-Cities
