- ➤ On Flag Day, June 14, Kennewick will hold a ceremony at the Regional Veterans Memorial in Columbia Park at 7:30 p.m. to retire worn U.S. flags—13 will be burned during the event and additional donated flags will be disposed off site, while local groups including American Legion Post 34 lead the Pledge of Allegiance. - ➤ A fire erupted on the 900 block of North Cleveland Street in Kennewick just after 4:30 a.m. Thursday — fire agencies responded and no injuries have been reported. Apple Valley News Now
- ➤ Kennewick firefighters responded at 4:30 a.m. Thursday to a house fire on North Cleveland Street, evacuating two residents and checking minor injuries — they stayed on scene while officials asked residents to avoid the area. FOX 41 Yakima

- ➤ High school graduates in the Tri-Cities were celebrated as they stepped into the workforce on June 12th at the 4th Annual Career Signing Day—organized by the Tri-City Regional Chamber of Commerce, local businesses and community leaders supported the Class of 2025 in finding career paths in technical and trade fields. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The U.S. Department of Energy has committed to give high-assay low-enriched uranium—HALEU—to five nuclear companies, including those involved in local Tri-Cities projects, so they can build next-generation reactors. Local nuclear leaders say the move will support new reactor designs and may let some companies start using the fuel later this year. Tri-Cities Business News

- ➤ Bornstein Seafoods Inc from Bellingham has recalled 44,500 pounds of frozen shrimp after routine testing detected possible Listeria contamination in 1-pound and 5-pound bags sold in several areas (Washington, Oregon, California and British Columbia). - ➤ The Benton-Franklin Health District in Kennewick is urging local business leaders to complete the 2025 Community Health Survey, now open through June 30. - ➤ A historic Kennewick property built in 1912 and once home to Farmers Exchange reverted to Banner Bank after a late May auction when no other bids were received—Banner Bank said it will soon relist the property to attract a buyer who can revitalize downtown.
