- ➤ Downtown Kennewick is hosting the Discover the Charms campaign this summer—locals and visitors can collect unique tokens by visiting 20 businesses and purchasing a $15 starter kit that includes a charm bracelet, an official charm map and passport, and the first charm. - ➤ On June 17th, Kennewick police responded to two incidents when 20-year-old Adam Hand stabbed a woman near Bob Olson Parkway then deliberately drove into a pickup truck—leaving the truck driver with minor injuries and the victim treated for stab wounds—and he now faces multiple felony charges. - ➤ Kennewick police are searching for a 20-year-old man—wanted for stabbing a woman several times before hitting a car—after they responded to a two-vehicle crash on Bob Olsen Parkway around 11:30 p.m., and both the driver and victim remain in stable condition. NBC Tri-Cities
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ A new study from ERJ Open Research shows that women who work night shifts face a 50% higher risk of moderate to severe asthma, with postmenopausal women not on hormone replacement therapy having an 89% increased risk plus researchers suggest that shift work may disrupt the body clock and hormone levels. More research is needed to determine the exact link and to find ways to reduce the risk for night-shift workers. FOX 41 Yakima
- ➤ A new study found that 49% of stroke survivors fully recovered from mood disorders and 71% saw significant improvement in anxiety and depression after talk therapy—patients who began treatment within six months of their stroke reported the best outcomes. FOX 41 Yakima
