- ➤ 3 Rivers Community Foundation launched its Meet the Moment campaign to support local nonprofits in Benton and Franklin counties; it set a goal of raising $50,000 by September 30th and has already raised $13,000 with every donation being doubled. The foundation's board will review grant applications from August 1 until October as it uses matching gifts to help meet critical needs. KEPR TV

- ➤ Two Mid-Columbia wineries, Kiona Vineyards & Winery for its scenic tasting room and Terra Blanca Winery & Estate Vineyard for its restaurant, are in national top-10 list consideration according to USA Today’s contest which runs until 9 a.m. July 21, with local members voting to boost the Tri Cities as a premier wine destination. - ➤ Kennewick police arrested Michael Piat—wearing black face paint shaped like a cross and handing out $100 bills—on Tuesday night after reports of his erratic behavior led officers to search his car, where they found cocaine and charged him with driving under the influence and a suspended license. - ➤ After a theft alert on Tuesday at about 8:50 p.m., Pasco Police and Washington State Patrol chased a stolen car from Burbank to Touchet on Highway 12—using spike strips to slow the vehicle—before arresting 31-year-old Jake Long from Kennewick for assault, possession of a stolen vehicle and eluding police. - ➤ Benton County deputies arrested a man for theft at Ki-Be Market after he put a gate latch in his pocket without paying; store workers confronted him and he said it fell in his pocket before he returned it and fled, and deputies later found his vehicle near 2nd Street and interviewed him at Dollar General (he now faces charges for theft, driving while his license was suspended, and driving without an ignition interlock). - ➤ The Farmers Exchange building in downtown Kennewick was added to the National Register of Historic Places, as confirmed by the Washington Department of Archaeology and Historic Preservation. Built in 1912 and once a key agricultural supply hub, the property at 215 W. Canal Drive — now owned by Banner Bank through foreclosure and for sale — may qualify for preservation grants and historic tax incentives. NBC Tri-Cities
- ➤ Historic landmarks in the Tri-Cities, such as the Dyer Building and Franklin County Museum, show early community life before Hanford and the Manhattan Project spurred rapid growth.
